Powering Prostate Cancer Care with Unified Data

Harnessing Data-Driven Insights to Revolutionise Prostate Cancer Care

At Cuviva, we are proud to be part of an innovative project aimed at improving prostate cancer diagnosis and treatment through data integration. Together with Karolinska University Hospital, the Karolinska Institute, and Cambio, we are working to collect and manage all relevant patient data in one place. Our approach uses established data standards to ensure that information is both easily accessible and reliable.

By combining insights from healthcare, industry, and research, this project lays the foundation to develop the next generation of AI tools that will support more accurate decision-making in patient care.

Our Solution

To improve prostate cancer care, we are leading a collaborative project in Sweden with Karolinska University Hospital, Karolinska Institute, Cambio, and Cuviva that aims to centralize patient data. This project integrates all relevant information from medical devices, specialist assessments, and patient inputs into a unified system. By establishing open data standards, the goal is to create a foundation for AI-based decision support to enhance the accuracy of diagnostics and treatment.

Our Target Group

The project focuses on patients diagnosed with prostate cancer, as well as the healthcare providers managing their treatment. The new system will assist healthcare professionals from different specialties by providing comprehensive data access and tools for more efficient decision-making.

The Purpose of Our Project

In Sweden, prostate cancer care currently relies on multidisciplinary conferences where oncologists collectively assess patient cases. However, data from various sources often lack interoperability, leading to inefficient manual processes. Through this project and the introduction of AI-compatible data standards, we aim to streamline patient assessments, ensuring more accurate and timely treatment decisions.

Example of Sensor Use

A key aspect of prostate cancer care is the use of sensors to monitor vital data, such as PSA levels, which doctors use to assess treatment effectiveness. These sensor data will be seamlessly integrated into our system, reducing paperwork and improving the accuracy of patient monitoring.

Expected Results

With real-time data integration, healthcare providers will be able to make faster, more precise decisions tailored to individual patients. We are confident that this project will not only improve the accuracy of treatment but also help minimize treatment complications by simplifying the monitoring of patient-specific risk factors. AI-supported decision tools will ultimately allow doctors to select more personalized and tailored treatments.
